ST. PETERSBURG - The Studio@620 welcomes Miniature Curiosa’s presentation “Moon City: A Historic Tale Regarding A Historic Man in a Florida Swamp.” This multi-media puppet spectacle is Jan. 16, 17, and 18, 2014 at 8 p.m.

Admission is $20, $15 for students or seniors.

Audiences were treated to Miniature Curiosa's "Tonight A Clown Will Travel Time" a few months ago. The truly unique show was a wonderful success and The Studio is thrilled to have this creative duo back for another performance.

Miniature Curiosa presents its latest spectacle about a man who's got dreams so big they can only fit in the swamp. "Moon City: A Historic Tale Regarding a Historic Man in a Florida Swamp" promises puppets, precariously hung light bulbs, and, of course, an entire miniature amusement park in less than ten-feet of space.

In preparation for this swampland fantasy, a brief statement was given at the ground-breaking ceremony by the mayor of Moon City himself, Mr. Frederick Ingersoll:

“Imagine you’re walking - no, make that trudging through the Florida swamp, the mud tickling your ankles after a long day of work, a long day of the same ole thing as yesterday. And suddenly, you are surrounded by the radiating light of the moon. But it’s not just any moon. It’s not even your moon. It’s a moon that’s brighter than any moon you’ve ever seen and any moon you’re likely to see again, unless you come back tomorrow. And I do hope you come back. Welcome to Moon City."

"Moon City, A Historic Tale Regarding a Historic Man in a Florida Swamp" is the second play in Miniature Curiosa’s trilogy of plays about a man named Frederick Ingersoll. Not a piece of this play is fact; rather the entire romp is a make believe marvel regarding a man named Frederick.

This play kicks off Miniature Curiosa's five Cities, five Plays, 555 Days. This project promises to premiere five new plays in five different cities over the course of a year and a half.

Shows are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday January 16-17-18 at 8pm. Admission is $20, $15 for students and seniors. Reservations highly recommended, call 727-895-6620.
