Philippe to host nature walks SAFETY HARBOR – Guided nature walks will be offered Saturdays, Feb. 16 and March 16, 9 to 10:30 a.m., at Philippe Park, 2525 Philippe Parkway. The hike is limited to 12 participants. Attendees will learn park history while exploring nature. Participants should meet at the Philippe gravesite at 9 a.m. Closed-toe shoes, water, sunscreen a hat and insect repellant are recommended. McGough to host night hike LARGO – A night hike will be presented Saturday, Feb. 16, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at George C. McGough Nature Park, 11901 146th N. St. This will be a free interpretative nature hike through McGough’s habitats. Call 518-3047.
Brooker to host extended hike TARPON SPRINGS – A guided hike will be offered Saturday, Jan. 26, 9 to 11:30 a.m., at Brooker Creek Preserve, 3940 Keystone Road. Trained volunteer guides will conduct a 2.8- to 4-mile walk to look at how the land has changed over time and discuss the ecological footprints left by those changes. Insect repellent may be helpful. Water, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen along with sturdy closed-toe shoes are recommended. All ages are welcome. An adult must accompany children 15 and younger.
