CLEARWATER The Clearwater Soccer Club announces that eight members of the U-17/18 Boys U.S. Soccer Development Academy team and five members of the U-18 Girls Premier team will move on to play college soccer next season.
More than 500 Clearwater Soccer Club alumni have gone on to play college soccer since the clubs founding in 1972, including more than 60 in the past three years.
The noted players moving on to college soccer next year are the following:
U-17/18 USSDA Boys:
Jeremiah Barnes of Clearwater High will play for Kenyon College in Ohio.
Mark Biddinger of Berkeley Prep will play for the University of Louisville in Kentucky.
Jacob Frahm of Land OLakes High will play for the University of North Florida.
Danny George of Countryside High will play for Florida Gulf Coast University.
Andrew Hitt of Countryside High will play for the University of West Florida.
Mike Mitchell of Braden River High will play for the University of South Florida.
Patrick Shelton of Wharton High will play for High Point University in North Carolina.
Rheese Whiltshire of Shorecrest Prep will play for Elon University in North Carolina.
U-18 Girls:
Laura Cason of River Ridge High will play for Thomas University in Georgia.
Meghan Dodge of East Lake High will play for Mississippi College or Jacksonville State University in Alabama.
Lisa Jadick of River Ridge High will play for Southeastern University in Florida.
Kaitlin Parker of Clearwater Central Catholic will play for Florida Gulf Coast University.
Katherine Pederson of Clearwater High will play for the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado.
