Seminole Stampede slated for April 14

SEMINOLE – A field of both competitive and not-so-competitive runners is expected April 14 when the Greater Seminole Chamber of Commerce stages the 14th annual Seminole Stampede road races at Walsingham Park.

Registration packets can be picked up at the pre-race expo April 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Jim Graden’s Cardio-Karate Center, 9104 Seminole Blvd.

Late registration will also be accepted the day of the race up to 7:15 a.m.

The event includes a 10K run at 7:45 a.m., a 5K competition at 8 a.m. and a 1-mile fun run at 8:45 a.m.

An awards ceremony will follow at 9:15 a.m.

Registration fees for the 10K and 5K races are $20 before March 30 and $25 after March 30.

The fee for the one-mile run is $10 before March 30 and $15 after March 30.

Payment can be made at Jim Graden’s Cardio-Karate Center or mailed to the Seminole Chamber of Commerce, 8400 113th St. N., Seminole, FL 33775-3337. Registration forms are available online at www.seminolestampede.com.

All participants will receive a race T-shirt and goody bag.

Awards will be handed out for the top overall male and female winners, top male and female masters and top three males and females in various age divisions.

Race participants should be in Walsingham Park no later than 7:30 a.m. when the park gates will be shut. No dogs will be permitted on the race course. Parking will be available on 102nd Avenue near the entrance to the park at 12620 102nd Ave.
