SEMINOLE – Registration for the Kiwanis Club’s 30th annual Every Child a Swimmer program is Friday, April 11, 4:30 to 6 p.m., at the Holland G. Mangum Recreation Complex’s Aquatic Center, 9100 113th St. N.
Children ages 5 to 11 are eligible to participate, should be non-swimmers and come to the registration prepared to be water tested. Water testing is necessary to determine the instructional level a child requires.
Parents or legal guardians are required to register children.
Classes are Monday through Thursday for three weeks beginning Monday, April 14. Two class times are available, 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Each class will last 45 minutes.
Parents are encouraged to be on hand during the classes.
Florida is still the leading state in child drowning deaths and this program is designed to help children be comfortable in the water and able to swim to safety if necessary.
