Golf classic is fundraiser for new building
BELLEAIR – Registration is open for Woodlawn Community Academy’s second annual Charity Golf Classic Saturday, April 26, starting at noon, at Belleview Biltmore Golf Club, 1501 Indian Rocks Road.

After registration, the golf classic’s shotgun start is at 1 p.m. An awards presentation and buffet dinner is at 6 p.m. The cost is $125 per person.

Woodlawn Community Academy, at 845 Woodlawn St. in Clearwater, is in need of a bigger building to serve more children in the community with special needs. Currently, 105 students in kindergarten through 12th grade are enrolled, but the waiting list keeps growing.

The staff emphasizes helping each child achieve his or her very best academically, socially, spiritually and physically by focusing on individualized education for children with a variety of special needs and learning disabilities. The academy also helps its students transition to life after high school with special programs that will impart the skills necessary to obtain a job and contribute to the community.

Register online at www.wcagive.org. For more information and other ways to help raise funds, call the academy at 584-8916.
