Youth Group golf tournament PINELLAS PARK – The Youth Group at First United Methodist Church of Pinellas Park will sponsor its inaugural Youth for Missions “Hurricane Sandy Relief” Golf Tournament at Mainlands Golf Club, 9445 Mainlands Blvd. W., Saturday, May 4. The deadline for entering the tournament is Sunday, April 21. Thirty-two foursomes or 128 golfers will be accepted.
The event will raise funds for the group’s upcoming summer mission trip to Seaside Heights and Ortley Beach area of New Jersey. The group will assist with ongoing Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The trip’s estimated cost is around $500 per person. The group has taken nine previous mission trips, including one to the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina.

GTJGA scramble classic OLDSMAR – The Greater Tampa Junior Golf Association plans its second annual Scramble Golf Classic Sunday, May 5, 1 p.m., at the East Lake Woodlands Country Club South Course, 1055 East Lake Woodlands Parkway. The format is an 18-hole 4-player scramble. The entry fee is $100, which includes a buffet dinner. Plans include longest drive, hole-in-one, and closest to the pin awards. Charity golf tournament CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Free Clinic is hosting its 12th annual charity golf tournament Monday, May 6, at the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club, 1501 Indian Rocks Road, Belleair. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and then a 12:45 p.m. golf ball drop and 1 p.m. shotgun start. A dinner buffet will follow the tournament at the golf club, put on by Carrabba’s Italian Grill, concluding with an awards presentation and live auction.
There will be prizes for the top three foursomes, closest to the pin, and hole-in-one on all Par 3s. Individual players may register for $150, and sponsorships range from $150 to $5,000.
