TIERRA VERDE – An informational program on the closure of Shell Key Pass is Thursday, April 21, 6 p.m., at Tampa Bay Watch, 3000 Pinellas Bayway South in Tierra Verde.
The closure of the pass creates potential problems to ecological balance in the area. Tampa Bay Watch has opened discussions with residents and environmental specialists to begin researching possible solutions.
Speakers include Peter Clark, president of Tampa Bay Watch, Jerry Frullo, Tierra Verde Community Association, and State Rep. Kathleen Peters.
Morrie Goldman will gave a presentation on the opening of the pass, Robert Goldman will discuss nearshpre circulation and sand movement, and Bruno Falkenstein and Joe Widlansky will talk about turtles and predation.
