Young Anglers Tournament set for May 24

MADEIRA BEACH – The 11th annual Young Anglers Inshore Fishing Tournament is Saturday, May 24 for ages 15 and younger.

The tournament, sponsored by John’s Pass Village, features fishing from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by weigh-ins at Hubbard’s Marina. An awards party at The Friendly Fisherman Restaurant is set for 2 p.m.

Entry fee in the 5-under age division is $15 and will offer prizes for biggest fish, next largest fish, smallest fish and extraordinary catch.

Entry fee in the 6-10 and 11-15 age divisions is $25. Prizes will go for largest redfish, largest trout and largest sheephead.

All winners in each age division will win rod and reel combos and trophies.

All participants will receive a T-shirt, bait bucket with shrimp, goody bag and food.

The event benefits Gulf Beaches Elementary, Madeira Beach Elementary and Madeira Beach Middle schools.
