Old Salt sets annual ladies fishing tournament for June 22

TREASURE ISLAND – The 18th annual Ladies Inshore/Offshore Fishing tournament is set for Saturday, June 24, starting at midnight.
A Captain’s Party will be on Thursday, June 22, 7 p.m., at Gators on the Pass. At the registration meeting, there will be a raffle of fishing equipment, hotel stays, jewelry and more. There also will be food, drinks, music and a silent auction.
The tournament entry fee is $55 for Old Salt members and $65 for nonmembers. The first 100 anglers will receive tote and goody bags. Membership can be purchased at the captain’s meeting.
The species of inshore fish include: trout, sheepshead, Spanish mackerel and flounder; and offshore: snapper, grouper, amberjack and king mackerel.
Prizes and payouts, per species, include first place, $500; second place, $300; third place, $200; fourth place, rods donated by DogFish Tackle Company; and Master Angler, $500 and prizes.
The weigh-in will be on Saturday from 4 to 5 p.m. at Gators on the Pass, 12781 Kingfish Drive. The fish may be transported by boat or car. Proceeds will benefit Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation.
