Splash’s Treasure Hunt LARGO - Splash’s Treasure Hunt, Saturday, June 27, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Highland Family Aquatic Center. Sponsored by Ye Mystic Krewe of Santa Margarita. Hidden treasure is all over the aquatic facility for children to gather. Hunts are divided by age group. This event is for ages 10 and under. Come aboard the pirate ship but beware of the plank. Bandits holding registration ST. PETERSBURG – The Northeast Bandits Youth Football organization is registering football players and cheerleaders, ages 4 to 14, Saturday, June 27, 9 a.m. to noon at Meadowlawn Field, 58th Avenue and 16th Street North. Women on the Water CLEARWATER – MarineMax will sponsor a Women on the Water boat handling course at the Clearwater Yacht Club on Saturday, June 27, 9 a.m. to noon. The course will be a hands on educational experience. It will include instruction and then a behind-the-wheel experience on a MarineMax boat. Afterward, there will be a cook-out and live music. Philippe Park Nature walk SAFETY HARBOR – A guided nature walk will be offered on Saturday, June 27, 9 to 10:30 a.m., at Philippe Park, 2525 Philippe Parkway. Participants will learn about the park’s history while exploring nature. Closed toe shoes, water, sunscreen, a hat and insect repellent are recommended. The walk is free but registration is required. Brooker Creek guided hike TARPON SPRINGS – There will be a guided hike on Saturday, June 27, 9 to 11 a.m., at Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center, 3940 Keystone Road. Hikers will walk along the Education Center Trail while learning how the land has changed over time. Sturdy closed-toe shoes are a must, and water and a hat are recommended. Preregistration is required by noon on Friday, June 26. Admission is free. All ages welcome. Children younger than 6 may find this hike challenging. Call 453-6800.
Weedon Island hike ST. PETERSBURG – There will be a guided hike on Saturday, June 27, 9 to 11 a.m., at Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center, 1800 Weedon Drive N.E. Hikers will journey through coastal mangrove and upland ecosystems of the preserve while learning about the coastal environment and the early residents of Weedon Island. Hikers should bring water and a snack for this two-hour hike. A hat and closed-toe shoes also are recommended. Preregistration is required by 2 p.m. on Friday, June 26. Tri if you Dare Kids Triathlon SEMINOLE – The city of Seminole Recreation Division will be hosting the fifth annual Tri if you Dare Kids Triathlon on Sunday, June 28. The event is open to kids ages 5 to 15. The competition is a run/bike/pool swim triathlon. All participants will receive a finisher’s medal, event T-shirt and post race pool party. Registration fee is $35. No race day registration is available. Mandatory packet pick for participants will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 27, at the Holland G. Magnum Recreation Complex.

Kiwanis Midnight Run DUNEDIN – The 30th annual Kiwanis Morton Plant Mease Midnight Run is set for July 3 and 4, at Causeway Plaza, 2600 Bayshore Blvd. All runs start and end at the plaza. Seminole Lake golf training program SEMINOLE – Seminole Lake Country Club has teamed up with the PGA to offer a golf training program called Get Golf Ready in 5 Days Monday through Friday, 6 to 7:30 p.m., July 6 to 31. The program is conducted in a group lesson format and is designed to teach participants everything needed to begin play with confidence. The fee is $99 and includes use of golf clubs, range balls and instruction. Morton Plant Mease Triathlon CLEARWATER – Online registration is now open for the fourth annual Morton Plant Mease Triathlon, set for Sunday, July 12. The course will begin with a 1/3-mile open water swim in the Gulf of Mexico at Sand Key Park. From there, the 13-mile bike route will cross Sand Key Causeway, through Clearwater Beach and over the Memorial Causeway, then wind through downtown Clearwater and Belleair and the Belleair Beach Causeway. Runners will complete the race with a 3.1-mile run through Sand Key Park. Registrants may sign up online at www.mpmtriathlon.org and www.active.com. The registration fee is $70 for each competitor and $85 for a relay team. Fees will increase an additional $5 after July 5. Entry fees are nonrefundable. Online registration closes on July 8 and no registration will be offered on the day of the race. Registration capacity is limited to 1,000 entries.
Triathlon training camp ST. PETE BEACH - The St. Pete Beach Aquatic Center is hosting triathlon training camp in conjunction with the non-profit organizations Florida West Coast Aquatics and Lives Under Construction, July 13 to July 23. The camp will focus on swimming technique, running, conditioning and endurance. The camp takes place Monday through Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and all sessions will be divided into groups of youth ages 6 to 15 and adults ages 16 and up. Youth camp is $60 a person and adult camp is $80 a person. A minimum of five participants are needed per group. PAL football camp SEMINOLE – The Pinellas County Police Athletic League plans its seventh annual Ultimate Football Conditioning and Skills Camp July 13 through 17, 8 a.m. to noon, at the Seminole Youth Athletic Association, 12100 90th Ave.

Congo River Adventure Golf outing CLEARWATER - Golf outing on Saturday, July 18, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Congo River Adventure, 20060 U.S. 19 N. in Clearwater. Rain date is Saturday, July 25. Cost is $10 per ticket in advance only at Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Foundation, 4600 Alt 19 Palm Harbor. Proceeds will benefit the sanctuary. Tickets are good for any day, not only on July 18. Jays baseball camp DUNEDIN – The Dunedin Blue Jays plan their annual summer baseball camp for kids ages 6 to 16, Thursday, July 23 to Saturday, July 25, at Dunedin Stadium. Instruction will be provided by members of the Blue Jays. The camp is open to players of all skills and abilities. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon each day. Boating safety classes MADEIRA BEACH – The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-3 offers monthly safe boating classes at its headquarters, 299 Boca Ciega Drive, Madeira Beach. Classes are conducted Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $40.
Dates of classes are Aug. 8 and Sept. 12. Successful completion of the Auxiliary’s About Boating Safely and Boating Skills and Seamanship classes could qualify boat owners for a discount on insurance. Call 391-5185.
In The Zone Basketball Camps SEMINOLE – In The Zone Basketball Camps is offering a weekly basketball program for ages 12 to 16 at Seminole Recreation Center. This elite level program is for interested middle and high school players who want to progress their game to a level of increased competition. Classes are Saturdays, 10 to 11:30 a.m., and cost $25. Tennis lessons SEMINOLE – Tennis lessons are available Monday evenings at Tennis Club Park, 7283 113th St., from instructor Scott Hagenbuch. Hagenbuch teaches all the fundamentals of the tennis game for all ages. Lessons are offered on a per-lesson basis or on an affordable monthly plan. Kickboxing program SEMINOLE – Fourth-degree black belt and world champion Mark Graden instructs a kickboxing program Wednesdays from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. at the Seminole Recreation Center. Kotchman Baseball School SEMINOLE – Randy Kotchman will be bringing his baseball school to the Seminole Recreation Center. The program will feature skill development and practice for aspiring baseball players ages 4 and older. These private lessons are available for $60 a session. Stingray shuffle time CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Marina Harbormaster’s Office advises the public that stingrays are back in area waters. Swimmers are reminded to do the “stingray shuffle” when entering the water. The shuffling of feet creates a disturbance that causes stingrays to move away. If a sting does occur, see a beach guard immediately for a hot pack treatment. The peak of stingray season is May through October. Call 462-6954.
