Clearwater wins first Lifeguard Games

LARGO – The city of Clearwater was the overall champion in the first Lifeguard Games Aug. 2 hosted by the city of Largo at the Southwest Pool.
Six teams competed in each event. Four of the events were based on total combined time for all seven events plus penalties. Team winners were based on total combined time for all seven events plus penalties.
The Southeastern Group, a pool consulting and commercial pool supplier, sponsored the event along with Papa John’s Pizza and Zephyrhills Water.
The teams competing were city of Clearwater, Long Center; city of Pinellas Park; USF-St. Petersburg; city of Largo, No. 1; city of Largo No. 2; and city of Largo No. 3. The results follow.
