Baseball and Softball registration
MADEIRA BEACH – Winter baseball and softball registration for Gulf Beaches Little League will be at Madeira Beach Recreation Center, 200 Rex Place, Madeira Beach, Saturdays, Aug. 12 and 19, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Wednesday, Aug. 16, 6 to 8 p.m. Cost is $40.

Open to boys and girls ages 6 to 16 (6 year olds must have 1 year T-ball experience) in the greater Madeira Beach, Redington Beach, Oakhurst Shores, Blossom Lake Village and Bay Pines areas. Coaches, managers, umpires and volunteers also needed.

At least one parent or guardian must be present, with three proofs of residency and an original (or state certified copy) of the child’s birth certificate. The documents will be inspected and returned at registration. If registering online, these documents as well as a medical release form should be presented at one of the registration dates.

Soccer registration
- MADEIRA BEACH – Registration for Madeira Beach Soccer will be at the Recreation Center, 200 Rex Place, Saturdays, Aug. 12, 19 and 26, 10 a.m. to noon; and Wednesday, Aug. 16, 6 to 8 p.m.

The soccer program is for resident and nonresident children ages 5 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. Skills Night at Madeira Beach Middle School will be Monday, Aug. 28, ages 7 and 8, 6 p.m.; age 9, 7 p.m. – Tuesday, Aug. 29, age 10, 6 p.m.; ages 11 and 12, 7 p.m. The teams have an eight-game schedule with a tournament from September to December. The cost is $60 for residents and $75 for nonresidents, and includes a shirt, shorts and socks.

- PINELLAS COUNTY – Gulf Coast United Soccer will conduct in-person registration for its recreation soccer program on the following dates and locations.

* Saturday, Aug. 12, 10 a.m. to noon, Belleair Recreation Center; and 2 to 4 p.m. at the Seminole Junior Warhawks Complex.

* Thursday, Aug. 17, 6 to 8 p.m., Belleair Recreation Center.

* Saturday, Aug. 19, 10 a.m. to noon, Belleair Recreation Center.

* Tuesday, Aug. 22, 6 to 8 p.m., Seminole Junior Warhawks Complex.

The U6 season will start Sept. 9, and the older kids will start practicing in October. Belleair Recreation is at 901 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Belleair. Seminole Junior Warhawks Complex is at 11500 125th St. N., Largo. For information on requirements for registration or to register online, visit www.gcunited.com.

- SEMINOLE – Registration for the Seminole Youth Athletic Association boys and girls soccer will be Wednesdays, Aug. 16 and 23, 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 12, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Boys and girls ages 4 to 19 are eligible to participate. Birth certificates are needed, and parents or guardians must be present with identification. Registration is at the multi-sport complex at 12100 90th Ave. The cost is $90 a child and a $25 family fee.

- SEMINOLE – Seminole Shooting Stars Soccer Association will have registration at the Holland G. Mangum Recreation Complex, 9100 113th St. N., Saturday, Aug. 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 17, 6 to 8 p.m.

The league is open to players ages 4 to 18 (Must be born on or before July 31, 2002). To register, players must have a Seminole recreation card valid through 2/28/07; copy of a state certified birth certificate (for new players to SSSSA only); wallet size photo; and a check payable to SSSSA (may need to bring another check if purchasing a rec card). Please bring your child (uniforms will be sized at registration).

Registration fee is: Under 6: $90; Under 8 to 19: $100; $10 additional child discount. Practice starts the first week of October. Games begin the first Saturday of November.

- ST. PETERSBURG – Azalea Soccer League will hold registration Saturday, Aug. 12, 9 a.m. to noon, at Walter Fuller Recreation Center, 7891 26th Ave. N.; and Saturday, Aug. 19, 9 a.m. to noon, at Azalea Recreation Center, 1600 72nd St. N.

The program is for boys and girls of all skill levels, ages 4 to 18. The season begins the first week of November and ends the second week of February. Practices begin the first week of October. Players who did not participate in a Florida Youth Soccer Association affiliated league last season need to provide a copy of their birth certificate at registration. All parents need to provide identification at registration. City staff will be available for purchase of resident and nonresident ID cards.
