Largo Golf Course LARGO – The Largo Golf Course will offer residents the opportunity to play all the golf they can, enjoy a meal at the Golf View Cafe and watch the Bucs play a game for $30. Players may use an electric cart or walk. Tee time and electric cart for more than 18 holes is subject to availability. “All you can play” special fee must be paid before 4 p.m. Call 518-3024.
Introductory golf for kids SEMINOLE – The Seminole Recreation Division is offering an introductory golf program for kids that teaches the basic fundamentals of putting, chipping, pitching and full swing. Equipment is provided and there is a tournament and prizes at the end of the eight-week course. Sessions are Friday nights from 6 to 7:30 or 7:30 to 9. The cost is $150 a child. United Veterans Golf Classic BELLEAIR – The fifth annual United Veterans Golf Classic is set for Saturday, Sept. 15, 1 p.m., at Belleview Biltmore Golf Club. The event is sponsored by the Partnership for American Veterans Inc. and the Bay Pines VA Voluntary Services Advisory Committee. Proceeds will be used to enhance the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System volunteer recognition and awards program. The entry fee is $80 a player and includes greens fee, gift bag and awards dinner. Chamber Cup Golf Tournament LARGO – The Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce will have its fourth annual Chamber Cup Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 28, at Belleview Biltmore Golf Club, 1501 Indian Rocks Road. Registration begins at 11 a.m. The shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $125 a golfer. Lake Seminole Square is the tournament’s title sponsor. Highlights of the day include contests, giveaways, raffle prizes and barbecue lunch. Following play, the Chamber Cup Awards Reception will feature chamber member restaurants and food providers offering food samplings and the Art of Touch will provide massages. Call 584-2321.
Blessed Sacrament Benefit Golf Tournament SEMINOLE – The annual Blessed Sacrament School Benefit Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, Oct. 6, 8 a.m., at Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club, 8001 Cumberland Road. The entry fee for the four-man scramble event is $110 a player, which includes greens fee, cart and lunch. Prizes will be awarded for longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt. Seminole Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament SEMINOLE – Registration is under way for the 22nd annual Seminole Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament set for Thursday, Nov. 1, at Seminole Lake Country Club. The format is a four-man scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, followed by a 6 p.m. awards dinner. The tournament will be preceded by an 11:30 a.m. cookout. Amenities include a ditty bag, beverage carts, door prizes and more. The entry fee is $120 a player. Major sponsorships are available for $1,200 and include eight entries in the tournament, eight entries to the awards dinner, recognition at the awards dinner, company name displayed at the entrance to the golf course and a hole sponsor sign. Also available are corporate sponsorships for $650, which include four entries in the golf tournament and four tickets to the awards dinner, recognition at the awards dinner, hole sponsorship and a commemorative souvenir. Rally for the Cure golf tournament BELLEAIR – The eighth annual Rally for the Cure golf tournament will be Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Belleair Country Club. This year’s tournament will be a tribute to golfer Lyn Cantonis. The women of the country club are seeking monetary donations and hole sponsors for $200 or cart sponsors for $100. The 120 women golfers also will participate in a raffle drawing for unique gifts donated by the local shops in the area. Last year, the women of Belleair Country Club donated more than $19,000 to support the mission of Susan G. Komen to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
