Clearwater Marine Aquarium begins new construction

CLEARWATER – Clearwater Marine Aquarium has begun work on a new construction project to expand its facilities.
Highlights of the project include:
• A newly refurbished, 145,000-gallon dolphin pool
• A new, USDA-certified quarantine and stranding area to support CMA’s mission of rescuing stranded and/or injured marine animals
• An additional five sea turtle tubs and two fish quarantine tanks
• Roof access for guests to see otters on the roof undergoing rehabilitation
• A new stranding pool for animals
• A new, refinished parking lot
Aquarium staff expect that the additions will allow them to increase the facility’s overall animal care capabilities.

Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
