Golfers help brighten holidays for needy children

BELLEAIR – The sixth annual CharityWorks Cup Challenge to benefit the CharityWorks Holiday Gift Giving Fund will be Thursday, Nov. 20, at Belleair Country Club.
The shotgun team scramble will begin at 12:30 p.m. Contests and competitions will include three team net prizes, one team gross prize, hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest drive, putting, plus an exciting helicopter ball drop.
Tournament entry fees are $200 for individual; $800 for foursome; $250 for hole sponsor and $20 dinner tickets for nongolfers. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Proceeds from the golf scramble will benefit the CharityWorks Holiday Gift Giving Fund. Distributions from the fund will provide hope and inspiration this holiday season to underprivileged children in Pinellas County.
CharityWorks’ unique approach affords volunteer shoppers the opportunity to take advantage of special store discounts from participating retailers for merchandise that will be purchased tax free through the Holiday Gift Giving Fund. The fund is designed to simultaneously pool resources, avoid sales taxes and thereby assembling the largest numbers of shoppers, gifts at bargain prices and family benefits for children in need.
