LARGO – Looking for a little extra motivation to run this year’s Tampa Bay Times Annual Turkey Trot 10K?
Whether your goal is competitive or you are looking to set a personal record, Train for the Turkey Trot 10K Class is designed to help you reach your individual goal.
Registration is under way for the eight-week class, which will be held at the Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave. To prepare for the 10K (6.2-mile) race, individuals will learn proper stretching, participate in group runs and will be provided with training plans to take home and follow for the remainder of each week.
The class meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. from Sept. 26 through Nov. 21. The class will conclude with the 10K race held on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22.
Registration is $25 for youth residents and $31.25 for youth nonresidents; $55 for adult residents and $68.75 for adult nonresidents and includes the 10K race registration fee. The class is open to all runners, ages 16 and up. A city of Largo recreation card is required. For more information, call 518-3016.
