Osceola, Seminole host important district games

SEMINOLE – Osceola plays host to Bradenton Bayshore and Seminole is at home against Pinellas Park in a pair of district games Thursday night at 7:30 involving area high school football teams.

In other games Thursday night, Clearwater (2-1) plays at East Lake (1-2), Countryside at Dunedin (2-1), Dixie Hollins (0-3) at Gibbs (2-1), St. Petersburg (0-3) at Largo (2-0) and Boca Ciega (2-0) at Lakewood (2-1). Northeast (3-0) plays at Bradenton Southeast (0-3) Friday night.

Osceola (1-2) will be seeking its first 4A-District 9 win against Bayshore (1-2), a 28-7 winner last week over Braden River.

Seminole, winless in its first three games, came close to getting a victory last week before dropping a narrow 21-17 decision to Palm Harbor University. Donzel Redding led the Warhawks with 131 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Pinellas Park (0-2) had last week off after losing its opener 49-7 to Countryside and getting pounded by Lakewood 39-0.
