Article published on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006
LARGO – A family fun fishing day on Saturday, Oct. 7, 8 to 11 a.m., at Taylor Park commemorates Pinellas County's celebration of Greenways and Trails Month. Admission is free.

Activities include:

- fishing for fun and prizes for children age 14 and younger

- live music, beginning at 10 a.m.

- Bounce House and games for the young and young at heart

- 1-mile family fun run or walk

- display featuring an antique fire engine and antique bicycles

Fishing poles and bait will be provided, so even the most inexperienced anglers can try their hand. Experienced anglers are welcomed to bring their own pole and get right to fishing. Prizes will be awarded to anglers 14 and under for the first catch, largest fish, multiple catches and more.

The event is sponsored by the Pinellas County Parks and Recreation Department and co-sponsored by Florida Fish and Wildlife and Kiwanis of Seminole Breakfast.

The Kiwanis Club of Seminole Breakfast will offer coffee or juice and a donut for a $1 donation. Proceeds go toward the purchase of worms for the fishing days.

Taylor Park is at 1100 Eighth Ave. S.W. For more information, call the Pinellas County Parks and Recreation Department at 464-3347.
