Article published on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007
PINELLAS COUNTY – After losing to Pasco-Hernando Community College for its first loss of the season last week, the St. Petersburg College volleyball team rebounded to edge previously unbeaten Hillsborough Community College 15-13 in the fifth match.

The result was all three teams were tied for the Suncoast Conference lead with one loss. SPC was 10-1 overall entering play Tuesday night against South Florida Community College.

Tonight (Sept. 27) the team is at home against Manatee Community College.

The team was off last weekend. The break came at a good time as 6-foot-3 middle setter Heloisa Jaquim Dos Santos is still nursing a sprained ankle. She was unable to play in the Pasco-Hernando CC Hillsborough CC matches.

The Titans complete their home conference season Tuesday (Oct. 2) against Polk CC.

Beginning Oct. 4 the Titans begin a round of conference matches on the road. The regular season ends Oct. 23.

All home matches are played at the St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus, 6605 Fifth Ave. N. There is no admission charge to attend.
