Soccer players needed for international tour

PINELLAS COUNTY – United Soccer Academy is looking for male and female players between the ages of 10 and 18 to compete in South America and Europe for winter, spring and summer 2008-09.

The spring tour will be to Italy (March 15 through 25, 2008) with visits to Rome, Republic of San Marino, Venice and Milan and competition in the Como Lake Cup.

The summer tour to Britain (July 15 through 28, 2008) will begin with a four-day training camp and participation in the Rangers FC Invitational in Scotland followed be competition in the Watford and London International Festival of Football.

The winter tour will be to Brazil (Dec. 26, 2008 through Jan. 4, 2009) with visits to Sao Paulo and Santos, home of Pele.

Tryouts for the team are Saturday, Oct. 13, 4 to 6 p.m., at the University of South Florida soccer practice fields in Tampa.

Players are asked to bring a soccer ball, water and $15 registration fee to the clinic/tryout. Players may preregister online at: www.unitedsocceracademy.org/tryouts.asp.
