Clearwater Beach Chamber golf tournament CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce’s 18th annual golf tournament will be held Monday, Oct. 21, at the Cove Cay Country Club. Greater Seminole Area Chamber tournament SEMINOLE – Registration has begun for the Greater Seminole Area Chamber of Commerce’s 28th Annual Golf Tournament to be held Thursday, Oct. 24, at Seminole Lake Country Club, 6100 Augusta Blvd. The cost of the four-person scramble is $125 per person and includes lunch, a goody bag, beverages, super tickets, cart, greens fee and dinner. Check in and cook out begin at 11:30 a.m., shotgun start at 1 p.m., and the awards dinner will take place at approximately 6 p.m.
Participants could win $10,000 for making a hole-in-one on the 10th hole. Other contests that day include closest to pin, longest drive, straightest drive, putting and chipping.
Sponsors are needed at levels beginning at $50 for golf hole signs, $100 for contest sponsorships, $1,500 for dinner sponsorships and $3,000 for a Silver Sponsor. Major sponsors ($1,500 or more) will receive entries for four players, hole sponsor sign, emphasis in all Chamber tournament promotions and recognition at the tournament awards dinner. In-kind sponsors who donate food, beverages, gift bag items and prizes for the drawing also are needed, and will be acknowledged at the tournament awards dinner.

PARC’s 39th annual Golf Weekend ST. PETERSBURG – PARC’s 39th annual Golf Weekend event is planned Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23. The weekend kicks off with the Harvest Hoedown Nov. 22 at the St. Pete Coliseum, featuring food, entertainment and live and silent auctions. FootGolf at Largo Golf Course LARGO – A new sport, combining the rules of golf with a regulation soccer ball, debuted at the Largo Golf Course, 12500 Vonn Rd., Oct. 5. FootGolf is played on shortened holes with players kicking a soccer ball toward 21-inch diameter cups. The Largo FootGolf course, a par-71 course with a 2,447-yard layout, is eighth certified course in the nation to offer the new sport and one of only two such courses in Florida.
Regular tee times for FootGolf will be available Saturdays and Sundays, noon to close beginning Saturday, Oct. 12. Rates are, for 18 holes: $20 to ride and $15 to walk or for nine holes: $15 to ride and $10 to walk. A $5 discount is available for groups of 12 or more.
