Ridgecrest YMCA plans golf tournament BELLEAIR – The Greater Ridgecrest Branch YMCA second annual Multi-Cultural Achievers Golf Tournament will be played on Friday, Oct. 13, at the Belleview Biltmore, 1501 Indian Rocks Road. Golf and dinner benefits diabetics LARGO – The Diagnostic Clinic will host its first annual Charity Golf Classic and Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 14, 1 p.m., at the Bayou Club. All proceeds benefit Diabetic Charitable Services, a local nonprofit organization that provides guidance and supplies to those without health insurance or means to purchase essential testing supplies. The event is sponsored by Largo Medical Center. The club is at 7979 Bayou Club Blvd.
Golfers to play 18 holes at Seminole Lake Country Club SEMINOLE - The 21st golf tournament committee, headed up by John Elias and Doc Kinsey, is a four-person scramble, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 19, at Seminole Lake Country Club. The Seminole Professional Firefighters will return to cook up hot dogs and burgers at the grill. There will be time to eat and mingle before the shotgun start at 1 p.m. Golfers will have an opportunity to play the 18 holes at Seminole Lake Country Club, 6100 Augusta Blvd. N. Dinner that night includes a meal and the chance to win prizes. The fee is $120 a player. Door prizes and sponsorships are currently being sought. Call the Seminole Chamber at 392-3245.
Tournament benefits Children's Therapy Services MADEIRA BEACH – The Holiday Isles Elks Lodge No. 1912 Golf Tournament will be Saturday, Oct. 21, at Baypointe Golf Club, 9399 Commodore Drive, Largo, to benefit Children’s Therapy Services and Youth Camp. All Children’s Guild hosts tournament BELLEAIR – The 13th Annual All Children’s Hospital Charity Golf Tournament will be Saturday, Oct. 28. Double shotgun is 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. at the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club, 1501 Indian Rocks Road, Belleair. Sponsored by the Seminole/Largo All Children’s Hospital Guild. Sailing and beach associations plan first-ever golf tournament OLDSMAR - The Clearwater Community Sailing Association and the Clearwater Beach Association will host their first annual golf tournament on Monday, Oct. 30, at Eastlake Woodlands Country Club - North Course. The event will feature a golf scramble, goodie bags, prizes, box lunch, dinner and cash bar, silent auction and raffle. An awards dinner featuring comedian G. David Howard will complete the day. Cost is $125 a player. Participants can play again for the price of the cart fee. Hole sponsorships are $100. The event will help the Clearwater Community Sailing Center provide equipment and scholarships so children, seniors and the physically challenged can participate in the sport of sailing. Big Al's Golf Scramble raises funds for The Hospice CLEARWATER - The 11th Annual Big Al's Golf Tournament will take place at the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club on Saturday, Nov. 4. The community fundraiser is hosted by the Gelep family in honor of their father, Alexander Gelep. Last year the tournament raised more than $10,000 to support the patients and families served by The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. For more information, call Jamie Gelep at 727-466-0075.
