Clearwater Chapter MOAA golf tournament CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will host a golf tournament on Friday, Oct. 26, at Cove Cay Country Club. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by tee time at 8:30. The event will feature a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. A golf package costs $65 and includes green fees and cart, range balls, awards luncheon and door prizes.
Cost for the luncheon only is $20. Sponsorships also are available. Proceeds will go toward scholarships for graduating members of the Clearwater High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC. Cove Cay Country Club is at 2612 Cove Cay Drive. Call 738-5333.
Resource 1 Charity Golf Classic PALM HARBOR - Resource 1 Enterprise is hosting its first-ever charity golf tournament on Monday, Oct. 29, 11 a.m., at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, 36750 Hwy. 19 N. Palm Harbor. Golfers and sponsors needed. Proceeds will go to Resource 1 Enterprise a nonprofit organization that provides career guidance, technology skills, career clothing assistance, work transportation and mentoring. Osceola High School Warriors Golf Tournament SEMINOLE – The annual Osceola High School Warriors Golf Tournament is Saturday, Oct. 27, at Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club. The event, organized by the Osceola Baseball Team Boosters, will benefit the school’s baseball program. The format is a four-player scramble with trophies for the first through third-place teams. Awards also will be given for closest to the pin, longest drive and putting. The $95 entry fee includes greens fee, cart, gift and lunch. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8. Sailing and beach associations benefit golf tournament CLEARWATER BEACH – The Clearwater Community Sailing Association and Clearwater Beach Association will present its second annual benefit golf tournament on Monday, Oct. 29, at Eastlake Woodlands Country Club’s north course. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with tee-off at 1 p.m. Cost is $135 a player and includes the golf scramble, goodie bags, box lunch, prizes and awards dinner. The awards dinner will feature a cash bar, raffle and silent auction. Sponsorship opportunities range from the $3,500 Platinum Sponsor to $100 hole sponsorships. Proceeds will benefit the Clearwater Beach Association’s Helping to Feed the Hungry program with Tampa Bay Harvest as well as Clearwater Community Sailing Center’s sailing programs for the physically challenged, children and seniors. Seminole Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament SEMINOLE – Registration is under way for the 22nd annual Seminole Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament set for Thursday, Nov. 1, at Seminole Lake Country Club. The format is a four-man scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, followed by a 6 p.m. awards dinner. The tournament will be preceded by an 11:30 a.m. cookout. Amenities include a ditty bag, beverage carts, door prizes and more. The entry fee is $120 a player. Major sponsorships are available for $1,200 and include eight entries in the tournament, eight entries to the awards dinner, recognition at the awards dinner, company name displayed at the entrance to the golf course and a hole sponsor sign. Also available are corporate sponsorships for $650, which include four entries in the golf tournament and four tickets to the awards dinner, recognition at the awards dinner, hole sponsorship and a commemorative souvenir. CharityWorks Cup Challenge BELLEAIR – The 5th annual CharityWorks Cup Challenge to benefit the CharityWorks Holiday Gift Giving Fund will be Friday, Nov. 2, at the Belleview Biltmore Golf Club. The shotgun team scramble will begin at 12:30 p.m. Contests and competitions will include three team net prizes, one team gross prize, hole in one, closest to the pin, longest drive, putting, plus an exciting helicopter ball drop. One-half of the net proceeds from the golf scramble will benefit the inaugural CharityWorks Holiday Gift Giving Fund, which will provide hope and inspiration this holiday season by providing gifts to the neediest children in Pinellas County. CharityWorks’ unique approach affords volunteer shoppers the opportunity to take advantage of special store discounts from participating retailers for merchandise that will be purchased tax-free through the Holiday Gift Giving Fund. Tournament entry fees are $150 for individual; $600 for foursome; $200 for hole sponsor and $20 dinner tickets for non-golfers. Sponsorships levels include Platinum for 8 golfers ($3,000); Gold for 4 golfers ($2,000) and Silver for 4 golfers ($1,000).

Rally for the Cure golf tournament BELLEAIR – The eighth annual Rally for the Cure golf tournament will be Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Belleair Country Club. This year’s tournament will be a tribute to golfer Lyn Cantonis. The women of the country club are seeking monetary donations and hole sponsors for $200 or cart sponsors for $100. The 120 women golfers also will participate in a raffle drawing for unique gifts donated by the local shops in the area. Last year, the women of Belleair Country Club donated more than $19,000 to support the mission of Susan G. Komen to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
