LARGO – Florida Sports Charities will host a celebrity flag football game to benefit Tampa Bay-based renowned sports artist Greg Crumbly on Saturday, Nov. 9, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Whitesell Softball Complex, 12555 119th St.
Come watch the game or play with celebrities such as James Jones, Chidi Ahanotu, Jerry Wunsch, Cosey Coleman and Reginald Roundtree to name a few. Admission is $2. Registration to play is $25 in advance or $35 on the day of the event.
The event will include a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and an opportunity to get a few autographs for $10.
Crumbly is a husband, a father, an Army veteran and an ex-Pittsburgh police officer, who has been diagnosed with various medical concerns. As a child, a glass spike impaled his right hand. As the tendons healed, his doctor recommended that he either draw or write as physical therapy to regain the use of his hand. As a result of this therapy, Crumbly discovered his talent.
He retired early from the Pittsburgh Police Department in 1990 due to gunshot wounds and began a career as a portrait artist. To view his art, visit www.GregCrumbly.com
