SAND KEY – The Carlisle Classic Championship Regatta, which began in 1990 as a fundraiser for the then non-existent Clearwater Community Sailing Center, was Nov. 17 and 18 in Clearwater Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico.
The competition included 62 boats, 90 sailors and 28 race committee members on the water each day, led by the Clearwater Yacht Club race committee with Dave Ellis and past Commodore David Billing.
The Dan Carlisle Family was honored for their initial and continuing support of the Clearwater Community Sailing Center at the Saturday night banquet sponsored by the Island Way Grill.
