ST. PETERSBURG - The St. Pete Times Forum will host NCAA Basketball action featuring the Florida Gators taking to the court against the University of Vermont Catamounts on Friday, Nov. 30, at 7:30 pm – locally presented by MetroPCS.

The University of Florida men’s basketball team ended a magical 2006-2007 season with a victory over Ohio State to claim the national title for the second straight year. With the victory, the Gators became the first team since 1991 and 1992 to repeat as national champions.

Billy Donovan, head coach of the 2006 and 2007 National Champion University of Florida men’s basketball team, was recently honored with the United States Sports Academy’s Amos Alonzo Stagg Coaching Award on Tuesday.  Donovan guided the Gators to a 35-5 mark and the national title in 2007, after leading UF to a 33-6 mark and the school’s first national title in 2006.

The 2006-2007 season was one of the best in school history for the  University of Vermont Catamounts under second year head coach Mike Lonergan. UVM went 25-8 overall and won the America East Regular Season Championship for the third time in the program’s history with a 15-1 league mark. The Catamounts tied the school record for wins in a season and advanced to the postseason National Invitational Tournament for the first time in team history. Lonergan garnered several coach of the year honors, including America East and sophomore Mike Trimboli was the fans’ choice player of the year in the league.

Tickets are priced at: $32.75, $22.75, $17.75, $12.75 and available at the McDonald's Box office at the St. Pete Times Forum and all Ticketmaster Outlets including Spec’s Music and FYE. To order tickets by phone, call Ticketmaster at 813-287-8844 or 727-898-2100.
