Garden Club of St. Petersburg meeting ST. PETERSBURG – The Garden Club of St. Petersburg will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 7 p.m., at the Garden Center, 500 Sunset Drive S. E. William Warren, founder of the amaryllis study group, will present a program on amaryllis, buying and growing, and will offer amaryllis and bulbs for sale. Holiday Conservation Celebration LARGO – The Pinellas County Extension along with the Pinellas chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society and St. Petersburg Audubon will team up for the Holiday Conservation Celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the extension. The free event will celebrate important conservation values. There will be exhibits from 15 local environmental nonprofits, refreshments and door prizes. Award presentations will be made to deserving organizations. A silent auction of environmentally themed holiday gift items will help fund local scholarships. The evening’s program will be presented by Terry Tomalin, outdoors editor of the St. Petersburg Times. The program, A Paddle and a Prayer, will recount Tomalin’s exciting quarter-century spent exploring the wild waterways of Florida. Pinellas County Extension is at 12520 Ulmerton Road.
