Winter camp signups underway

Winter camps
SEMINOLE – The Holland G. Mangum Recreation Complex, 9100 113th St. N., is now enrolling children in kindergarten through sixth grade for its winter camps. The camps will be held Monday, Dec. 23 through Friday, Dec. 27, and Monday, Dec. 30 through Friday, Jan. 3, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Participants will engage in games, sports, crafts, and a field trip. In addition to the regular camp program, Seminole Recreation is also offering a cooking camp during the first week of break and a science camp during the second week. Cooking camp will include food projects, nutritional games and a lunch field trip. Science camp will include experiments in earth science, physics and chemistry, as well as a museum field trip. Recreation staff teaches all camps.

Camp is closed for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Participants must have a valid recreation card. Call 391-8345 for more information.

Tennis and golf camps
TREASURE ISLAND – Tennis and golf camps for juniors ages 6 and older are set Monday, Dec. 23 to Friday, Jan. 3, 9 a.m. to noon, at Treasure Bay Golf and Tennis, 10315 Paradise Blvd. The fee for the each camp is $25 per day per child. Pre-registration is required for both camps. There will be no camp on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1. For additional information, contact Treasure Bay at 360-6062. Recreation camp
TREASURE ISLAND – A recreational camp for children ages 5 to 10 will be held from Monday, Dec. 23 through Friday, Jan. 3, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Treasure Island Community Center, Gulf Boulevard and 106th Avenue. There will be no camp on Tuesday, Dec. 24; Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Activities will include games, sports, arts and crafts, movies and field trips. Registration is at the Recreation Department inside City Hall, 120 108th Ave.

Registration forms are also on-line at www.m­ytrea­surei­sland­.org. The fee is $20 a day for Treasure Island residents and $25 a day for non-residents of Treasure Island. For additional information, call the Treasure Island Recreation Department at 547-4575, ext. 237.
