Sinfun Sunday benefits SPCA Suncoast

NEW PORT RICHEY - A concert by Julie Black and her band on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2 p.m., at the Richey suncoast Theatre, 6237 Grand Blvd., will benefit the SPCA Suncoast.

Tampa Bay area songwriter and vocalist Black, accompanied by her band, is hosting their second Sinful Sunday concert benefit to help the non-profit animal shelter raise critically needed resources for its Emergency Medical Care Fund. General admission tickets are $7 advanced purchase, $10 at the door.

“We had a fabulous time last year playing to a sold out show, the audience was really fantastic.” Black said. “As a special thank you for our SPCA supporters—we have again prepared several new songs to debut just for this performance.” The concert begins at 2:00 p.m.

A Valentine’s themed VIP party begins at 12:30 p.m., also at the Richey Suncoast Theatre, which will include a silent auction, a meet and greet with Black, band members, SPCA Board members and even a few furry friends from the shelter. VIP tickets are $35, advanced purchase only. VIP tickets include admission to the concert.

Tickets may be purchased at the Richey Suncoast Theatre or reserve by phone by calling 727.842.6777. Visit www.AngelForBlues.com for sound samples, video and more information on Julie Black.

With a bit of “tongue-in-cheek” humor, guests are invited to “atone for their indulgence in sinfully good music” by sponsoring individual pets, purchasing Valentine’s Adoption Gift Certificates, bidding on silent auction items and bringing needed donation items as they enjoy a festive party and the soulful, swingin’ blues tunes.

“Ms. Black has been very supportive of the SPCA and we are so grateful that she has taken the time to join us in this fundraising effort”, said Board Member Lia Gallegos. “It is a wonderful example of how the arts can bring our community together for a good cause and, at the same time, encourage the growth of our local economy.”

Funds raised from this concert event will go toward providing emergency medical treatment for sick or injured animals that are brought to the shelter that might otherwise not be given a second chance at life.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Sponsorship information may be obtained at the shelter, located at

“Be My Valentine” – sponsor a pet for one month, $25 Valentine hearts with pet photos will bear sponsors names day of the show and will be displayed for one month at the SPCA.

Donation Drop Off – bin on site to collect donated items. Currently needed items: cat litter, Nyla-Bone & Kong toys (medium, large and extra large), laundry detergent and toys for animals of all sizes are always needed.
