Florida’s Pet Trust Law ensures pet owners care for their pets if they survive their owners. The statutes further establish that abandoning an animal means that the owner relinquishes all rights to the pet. Pet owners without a plan could lose the right to choose their pet’s future should the owner become incapacitated or die.
