CLEARWATER By the dozens, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles and farm animals will parade into the Harborview Center for the Pinellas Pet Expo on Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 3, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The show, targeted at pets, will offer exhibitors, entertainment and education for all animal enthusiasts. Nose to tail needs for any pet can be found at vendor booths ranging from pet food and toys to veterinary care and luxury pet resorts. Exhibitors will offer products and samples for pets and their people.
According to an American Pet Products Manufacturer’s Association study, Florida ranks fourth in the nation for dog and cat households, with the Tampa Bay area home to more than 500,000 pets.
In addition to products and services, the Pinellas Pet Expo will host nonprofit’s animal events including the Pet Adopt-a-Thon, featuring homeless pets from Pinellas shelters needing new homes. The Pinellas Pet Expo invites four legged friends to enter a talent show or series of contests including “best costume,” “best owner look-a-like” and more.
Canine athletes will entertain during agility demonstrations presented by Upper Suncoast Dog Training Club, Ketch Flyball, and several professionals featuring lectures and family participation.
Pet training tips and veterinary care advice are offered throughout both days of the Pinellas Pet Expo. Admission to the Pinellas Pet Expo is $3 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Family pets are invited to attend, provided they are friendly, vaccinated and on a leash or in a carrier.
