The Humane Society of Pinellas and Senior Pet Connection recently announced that operation of SPC’s pet food delivery program will be transferred to HSP, beginning in April.
Senior Pet Connection supports low-income and homebound seniors by making monthly deliveries of pet food and supplies at no cost. The Humane Society of Pinellas has absorbed the delivery program.
Gina Shields founded Senior Pet Connection in 2012 and the program quickly grew to serve about 100 pets in 60 homes across Pinellas.
“Gina has developed a fantastic program that serves so many needy clients,” said Sarah Brown in a press release. Brown is HSP executive director. “Senior Pet Connection fits perfectly with our mission of keeping pets and people together. We’re honored that she entrusted the program to us.”
Residents can help the Humane Society of Pinellas support seniors in need by donating funds and pet food. For information, visit HumaneSocietyofPinellas.org/SPC.
