LARGO - The SPCA's free Behavior Helpline is intended to help people and pets stay together and overcome behavior issues that - left uncorrected - can lead to owner frustration and surrender or abandonment of the pet.
Some typical helpline problems are: • Excessive barking • Chewing • Jumping • Excessive scratching • Not using the litter box
How to use the SPCA's FREE Behavior Helpline
1. Call the SPCA's main number at 586-3591 and ask for or dial extension 133.
2. Don't hang up - the recorded message will prompt callers to leave their name, phone number and a brief description of the pet behavior issue.
3. The message will be reviewed and researched. Callers will receive a prompt response from a trained animal behavior counselor who will offer advice and pet training tips.
