The USPS Rescue Stamps bring awareness to the plight of homeless pets.
DUNEDIN - Help the Dunedin Post Office and Dunedin Dog Rescue Stamp out hunger on Saturday, May 8, 9 a.m. to noon.
The public is urged to visit the post office on Saturday, purchase some animal rescue stamps, and donate some dog Food to help support local charities and their furry friends.
How to help
1. Purchase Stamps - The USPS Rescue Stamps bring awareness to the plight of Homeless Pets
2. Go to USPS partner Halo at www.halopets.com/stamps. Sign up for newsletter, twitter and more, and Halo will donate up to a million meals to shelter pets. Also, see stampstotherescue.com.
3. Help "For Paws Hospice's" local Food Bank program "All Pets Kitchen," which distributes pet food to homeless people for their pets through The Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless.
People can help by bringing Pet Food to donate at event (prefer dry "kibble" food), or by purchasing pet food at local independent "Natural Pet" in Dunedin during the week prior to the day of event and 10 percent of all purchases will go to All Pet's Kitchen
4. Adopt a dog from Dunedin Doggie Rescue at the Post Office, so they can save more shelter dogs.
Dunedin Doggie Rescue is a Not for Profit, 501 C3, all volunteer staff saving dogs from Kill Shelters in north Florida and in the local community.
