TREASURE ISLAND – The St. Petersburg Lions Club will sponsor the VetDogs for Heroes Fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 31, 3 p.m. to sunset, at the club’s beach house, 9300 W. Gulf Blvd.
The event will feature music and beach food. Admission is free.
Food and beverages will be available for a $15 donation.
Food choice will include hamburgers, brats and hot dogs with coleslaw, baked beans or potato salad. Music will be provided by Lee Jay Nelson Productions and will showcase hits of the ’60s and ’70s. Ralph and Bill also will perform rhythm and blues. Chapter 552 of the Vietnam Veterans of America will host a flag ceremony.
Proceeds will benefit America’s VetDogs – the Veteran’s K-9 Corps. The Veteran's K-9 Corps is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded by the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and serves the needs of disabled veterans and active duty personnel. Since 1946, the Guide Dog Foundation has provided guide dogs and training at no cost to people who are blind or visually impaired, including veterans.
