LARGO – There will be a Pit bull Pittie-Party Saturday, Aug. 17, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Pinellas County Animal Services, 12450 Ulmerton Road.
Attendees will have an opportunity to adopt a pit bull for $5 during the event. The party is designed to help find forever homes for all American pit bull terriers at Pinellas County Animal Services.
Pit bull and pit mix adoptions will be $5 each during this special promotion and will come with a goody bag of special dog treats and accessories. The special adoption fee includes medical check-up, spaying/neutering, vaccinations, internal and external parasite control, heartworm testing, microchipping and county license.
Pit bulls are notoriously slow to be adopted at Animal Services and many have been at the shelter for several weeks. But all dogs are in fine health with friendly temperaments and any one of them would make an ideal pet for the right family.
During the month of August, other adoptable dogs and cats are available with reduced adoption fees of $25, and $5 rabies vaccinations are available with the purchase of a required license each Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m.
