GULFPORT – Gulfport’s annual Doggie Halloween Party and Costume Contest will take place Wednesday, Oct. 31, 6 to 10 p.m., in the Art Village Courtyard at the corner of Beach Boulevard and 29th Avenue South.
All dogs must be on leashes and are welcome with or without a costume. The contest will begin at about 7:30 p.m. at the courtyard stage. Dogs will be judged in four categories, including small
dogs, medium dogs (20 to 40 lbs.), and large dogs. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place in each size category. Best of show will be judged from among the three first place winners. Treats will be on hand for all dogs in attendance.
This quirky and informal event is always a fun and popular gathering. Food and drink specials will be available during the evening from T & Me Tea Company and Yummy’s Casual Café in the courtyard. Local merchants and residents are encouraged to donate prizes for the event. This is a family-friendly and free event.
