ST. PETERSBURG – The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will host its 15th Annual Paws on Parade Pet Walk on Saturday, Oct. 29, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in North Shore Park.
Pet lovers are invited to join in the “walk to save lives.” The event is a top fundraiser for the SPCA, a nonprofit organization that takes in between 16,000 and 18,000 animals a year.
Registered walkers will raise money by collecting donations for participating in the one-mile walk. Tiger Teams, groups of people and their pets, will walk together to represent companies, organizations, neighborhoods and families. The donations collected by walkers will provide food, shelter and medical care for homeless and abused animals. Registered walkers are eligible for prizes based on the amount of money raised.
