Dog rescue seeks volunteers Florida Doggie Paws Rescue needs more volunteers and foster homes for small to medium breed dogs. The organization’s mission is to responsibly rescue, spay/neuter, rehabilitate, foster and find permanent loving homes for unwanted, abandoned and abused dogs in the community and throughout the state of Florida. Some people are hesitant to foster dogs, as they are afraid that giving the dog up when it is adopted will hurt too much. However, without enough foster homes the organization cannot rescue and save the dogs.
There are many advantages to fostering a dog. Foster homes are not responsible for any vet bills or expenses. The rescue will transport the dog and take care of any veterinary needs. The rescue has a trainer available and acts as a support system volunteer caretakers may call with questions about the dog’s behavior or health. Call 813-283-1695 or visit www.floridadoggiepaws.com.

There will be a cash bar and black tie is optional.
All of the proceeds from the event will go to support the foundation’s mission to enrich the lives of companion animals and people of all ages through education, responsible pet ownership and service programs.
The PAF is renowned for two of its programs, the Pet Professor in School Program and the Hand and Paw Pet Loss Support Program. The Pet Professor program visits Pinellas County school children from kindergarten through third grade, teaching them about being a responsible pet owner. The Hands and Paws program is a pet loss grief counseling support group. Both are funded by PAF donations, grants and the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association. Call 347-7387.
