Editor: After reading (and seeing) numerous arguments, informed and misinformed over the gun control issue, I would like to make a couple of what I hope will be valid points.
First, anyone who has looked at the faces of the most recent individuals committing these most horrible of crimes must agree that the gun was not the cause of the incidents. Secondly, the “solutions” being proposed lead me to quote from a newspaper article, which I found to have been published worldwide, when I was 4 years of age. “This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!” Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it – until you learn that it was a quote by Adolph Hitler, upon endorsing The Weapons Act of Nazi German, which was adopted in 1938. Are we on the verge of having history repeat itself?
