Editor: The Seminole Discussion Group on Recycling and Sustainability recently welcomed Ester Venouziou, president and founder of LocalShops1, and her brother, Mo Venouziou, to its monthly meeting. Ester and Mo described the LocalShops1 coalition, which advocates, promotes, and offers support to Tampa Bay independently owned businesses.
Since then, I have learned that the Greater Seminole Chamber of Commerce and LocalShops1 have jointly announced the launching of the Buy Local Seminole program.
I am pleased that this cooperative effort has begun. It is important to support our local economy. I, for one, will continue to gladly shop here in Seminole.
Who knows? I may even begin to ride my bike to the stores and leave my car at home. That will help me to lower my gas bill.
