Editor: St. Pete Beach Ė Redington Shores Ė It doesnít matter. Itís the same old story. Another hit and run. Ask me if Iím shocked. Until the police make themselves present in full force, these things will continue to happen. It just seems like this is a way of life down here.
How could another human being hit someone and flee? Oh Ė I forgot, Iím living in Florida, where the bad guys of the nation come when fleeing from the law. Do you ask why? Maybe itís because these people know the law is very lax down here or there are very few. You say hire more police Ė itís not going to happen. If it were up to some of these mayors, they wouldnít have any police presence at all. Bottom line, too many people Ė not enough police.
St. Pete Beach is still looking for the one that killed the little girl and then fled. The only thing they know is that they didnít go west. Something has to be done soon. Is it because of the many seniors who moved down here? Just because you raised your kids, you think your job is over. OK, then watch when your grandchild gets run down. Then come back and talk to me. Donít want to pay higher taxes, want everything catered to them? OK, this is what we have to live with. Oh yea, watch yourself when crossing the road.
Even though it is all flat land, no one can see. Brake peddle is on the right. Use it once in a while, and you just might save someoneís life.
