Editor: My issue is of great concern and shared by many people. I speak on behalf of my non-smoking citizens. It’s absolutely disgusting when I see a smoker flicking their cigarette butt out their car window.
I have no problem with loading up their own ashtrays, but don’t litter our streets. I don’t understand why there isn’t a lawsuit against this cruel act. Maybe if there was a way we nonsmokers can petition our rights to keep our streets clean is the only way to end this disregard for our beautiful environment.
I’m sure there are many people who feel the same way I do. There are many reasons why not to throw cigarette butts out the window. With our beautiful beaches and gorgeous climate we attract people from all over the world. What a vision we portray to other countries when they visit Florida and witness smokers flicking butts out the window. Did I mention a fire hazard on our vegetation? There is only negative intentions and lack of moral judgment on behalf of smokers. I haven’t seen or met one smoker who is conscious of their own bad habit. Don’t inflict us with your already disgusting bad habit.
