Not afraid of the ‘big bad wolves’
Article published on Wednesday, May 7, 2008
Editor: I’m one happy Belleair resident who is delighted to be living here. One of the things that makes this place such a good one to call home is the presence of the Belleview Biltmore Hotel. And now, this grand old lady has been offered a second chance to bring pleasure to a new generation.
It’s no fairy tale that she may turn into a beautiful queen thanks to the restoration plans presented to the town by the hotel’s new owners, Legg Mason. However, there’s more than one big bad wolf out there who would like to see this historic structure turn into a toad and vanish. I hope the citizens of Belleair who care about her as I do write, call or e-mail the town commissioners and tell them to help the lady get a face lift and make us all proud.
And the big bad wolves ... well, you know what happened to them.
