Editor: I was on my way recently to visit a friend by boat living on Tierra Verde. I got stopped by the (Florida) Marine Patrol and ticketed $88 for having my pet (dog) onboard.
Apparently it's against the law to have pets inside the Shell Key preserve area.
That also means that all people living on Tierra Verde water front having pets cannot take them on their boats if their property borders the hollowed Shell Key.
If this is not an dirty scheme to steal I don't know what is.
