Editor: What are you thinking? Or are you thinking at all? I noticed that there is no email address for Bob McClure or Alexandra Lundahl that I can find, and these are two people that need to be “kept safe.” Their reporting was so filled with inaccuracies, false statements, and lack of substantiated facts that it is an embarrassment that you would publish such rubbish. If ever there was a need for a fact-checker it was in this “reporting” that you produced.
As a journalism major from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, I am not a stranger to the written word. As a person who follows politics and has truly looked at both sides of the issues, I can tell you that Obama is not for the little guy and is heading us down the path to destruction. And that Mitt Romney is all that a president (not a community organizer) should be. God save us from lack of intelligence, distortion of the facts and the destructive influences of the mainstream and naive media such as the Seminole Beacon.

Editor’s note: Tampa Bay Newspapers stands by its coverage of President Obama’s visit to Seminole. The editors, Alexandra Lundahl and Bob McClure, accurately reported what Obama, his supporters and others said at the event Sept. 8. Newspapers routinely report statements made by public officials that readers may believe are misleading. If we shy away from printing controversial remarks made in the political arena, we’ve failed to do our job. The email addresses for the two editors as well as other editors are listed weekly on the papers’ Viewpoints page, as well as the contact page on our website.
