Editor: My wife and I have been homeowners in the city of Madeira Beach for 13 wonderful years. In the last two years, we have noticed many wonderful changes.
When walking or driving around our city, you can see the many changes that have already occurred and are ongoing. The city has been progressing substantially after being passive and stagnant for quite some time.
I commend the current city commission for taking issues head on instead of the usual “kicking of the can down the road” and the leadership that City Manager (Shane) Crawford has provided in this regard.
From capital projects, like the new municipal City Hall project to the remodeling of Archibald Park, our city is finally getting updated and the attention it deserves. While these major projects take time, money and consideration, when completed they will have a profound effect.
The new city Christmas decorations along Gulf Boulevard and 150th Avenue have been upgraded and look absolutely fantastic. They, along with the other ongoing capital projects, represent the new look of Madeira Beach and are the direct result of the leadership in our city.
We who live in Madeira Beach can be proud of our fine city.
