An investigation by the Major Accident Investigation Team of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is looking into the circumstances of an accident at 5:06 a.m. Thursday in which a motorcycle, shown to the left, and a marked Sheriff's Office car collided at the Intersection of Seminiole Boulevard and Park Boulevard in Seminole.
SEMINOLE - The Major Accident Investigation Team of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is checking out the details surrounding a fatality traffic accident that happened at 5:06 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at the intersection of Seminole Boulevard and Park Boulevard.
According to the Sheriff's Office report, investigators said the crash occurred in the intersection as the deputy in a marked Sheriff's Office car was on routine patrol going north on Seminole Boulevard. The motorcyclist was making a left turn from southbound Seminole Boulevard onto eastbound Park Boulevard.
Both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lanes of Seminole Boulevard, north of the intersection.
The motorcyclist, Charles T. Guarino, 50, of Seminole, was transported by ambulance to Saint Petersburg General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Deputy Dennis Garvey, 29, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Largo Medical Center. Garvey has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since Oct. 29, 2001.
