CLEARWATER – McMullen Booth Road will be closed between State Road 590 and Drew Street in both directions Sunday, Feb. 6, 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. to finish installation of the pedestrian overpass.
The bridge rebar and concrete will be installed during this closure. The bridge structure was put in place in early January.
McMullen Booth Road will re-open when the work is complete. U.S. 19 should be used as an alternate route. Only local traffic will be allowed between McMullen Booth Road and State Road 590.
The pedestrian overpass is part of the Clearwater East-West trail system that will ultimately connect Safety Harbor Trail to Clearwater Beach and the Pinellas Trail system. Connecting these areas will take about two years to complete. The overpass will provide a safer crossing for the very busy six-lane McMullen Booth Road. Call 462-6988.
